U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins announced the launch of USDA’s American Biofuels Trade Outlook during remarks as a featured speaker at Growth Energy’s annual Biofuels Summit on Tuesday.
The Biofuels Trade Outlook is intended to help U.S. biofuel producers better understand international markets, identify new trade opportunities and expand exports, according to Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor.
The United States is the world’s leading producer and exporter of ethanol, and ethanol exports support the nation’s rural economy and agricultural sector. Growth Energy said expanding agricultural exports can also help narrow the U.S. trade deficit.
Growth Energy credited the Trump administration and Rollins with working to reduce trade barriers and develop new markets for U.S. agricultural products. The organization said it plans to continue working with USDA to expand agricultural exports and create additional opportunities for biofuel producers and the farm economy.
