U.S. Department of Agriculture veteran Jeff Dwyer has joined the Renewable Fuels Association’s Washington office as director of global policy and regulatory affairs.
Dwyer joins RFA after eight years with USDA, most recently serving as senior adviser to the under secretary for trade and foreign agricultural affairs. In that role, he advised senior USDA leadership on agricultural trade, international economic policy and global engagement. He also led the development and execution of priority initiatives aimed at expanding market opportunities for U.S. agriculture.
Earlier in his USDA career, Dwyer served as an agricultural economist and international trade economist with the Foreign Agricultural Service.
Before joining USDA, Dwyer worked as an agribusiness consultant with Informa Economics, where he conducted economic, market and trade policy analysis for agricultural commodity groups, agribusinesses and trade associations.
In his new role at RFA, Dwyer will focus on global policy and regulatory affairs as the association works to expand opportunities for the U.S. ethanol industry in domestic and international markets.
Dwyer holds a Master of Science in agricultural, environmental and development economics and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from The Ohio State University.
