ADM is investing in four U.S. oilseed crush facilities to expand processing capacity and support growing demand for renewable fuels and vegetable oils driven by U.S. biofuels policy.

The company announced plans to make targeted improvements at its crush plants in Frankfort, Indiana; Deerfield, Missouri; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Spiritwood, North Dakota. The projects are expected to unlock approximately 700,000 metric tons of additional annual oilseed crush capacity, equivalent to more than 25 million bushels of additional demand for U.S. farmers.

Rather than building new facilities, ADM will expand throughput by upgrading existing infrastructure. The company said the approach allows it to increase capacity while maintaining flexibility and making efficient use of its current operations.

At the Frankfort facility, investments will include storage improvements, operational optimization and equipment upgrades, with completion expected in late 2028.

The Deerfield plant will receive upgrades to conveying, flaking, extraction and utility systems. That project is scheduled for completion in late 2028 or early 2029.

In Lincoln, improvements will focus on meal storage enhancements and debottlenecking projects intended to remove processing constraints. The work is expected to be completed in late 2028.

The Spiritwood facility, operated through the Green Bison joint venture with Marathon Petroleum Corp., will undergo operational optimization and selected equipment upgrades. Completion is expected by mid-2028.

ADM said it is also evaluating similar enhancement projects at additional North American crush facilities as it looks to further expand processing capacity.

The latest investments build on other recent projects across the company's U.S. network, including upgrades at its Clinton, Iowa, corn processing facility and capacity expansions at its grain elevator in Optima, Oklahoma.

According to ADM, the investments are intended to strengthen agricultural infrastructure while helping connect U.S. farmers with expanding domestic and international markets for renewable fuels and vegetable oil products.
