The Renewable Fuels Association has named Maddie Jenks as its new director of regulatory affairs, a position focused on developing and implementing regulatory strategies to support the association's efforts to expand markets for American-made ethanol.
In the role, Jenks will monitor and analyze regulatory proposals and guidance, lead engagement with federal and state agencies on industry priorities, and help member companies understand regulatory compliance requirements.
RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper said Jenks joins the association at a time when ethanol producers face an increasingly complex regulatory environment. He said her experience will help members navigate changing state and federal regulations involving issues such as the Renewable Fuel Standard, year-round E15, the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit and state low carbon fuel programs.
Before joining RFA, Jenks worked for Pilot Company, where she managed federal and state energy policy issues affecting transportation fuels and the travel center industry. Her responsibilities included developing advocacy strategies, analyzing legislative and regulatory proposals, coordinating with trade associations and industry partners, and advising company leadership on renewable fuels, transportation energy, tax incentives and infrastructure policy.
Jenks said she looks forward to working with RFA members and industry partners to address regulatory challenges, create opportunities for growth and support the future of the U.S. ethanol industry.
