FatHopes Energy and MotionECO have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a strategic partnership aimed at securing long-term supplies of second-generation biofuel feedstocks for sustainable aviation fuel production.

The agreement was signed during the MyAERO Symposium 2026, held June 30 through July 2 in Putrajaya, Malaysia, where industry leaders and policymakers gathered to discuss sustainable mobility and aviation decarbonization.

Under the agreement, MotionECO will serve as FatHopes Energy’s strategic sourcing partner for used cooking oil and other qualifying sustainable feedstocks sourced from China. The companies said the partnership is intended to create a secure, traceable and scalable supply chain capable of supporting annual feedstock volumes of more than 200,000 metric tons.

The partnership aligns with FatHopes Energy’s broader strategy to strengthen Malaysia’s sustainable aviation fuel ecosystem by improving feedstock security and traceability.

MotionECO, one of China’s earlier entrants in sustainable feedstock sourcing and circular resource development, brings more than 10 years of experience in feedstock collection and aggregation. The company has developed an agent network across Asia and has supported procurement programs for major international energy market participants.

As part of the collaboration, MotionECO will oversee feedstock collection, sourcing, sustainability certification and logistics management. FatHopes Energy will act as the intended off-taker and downstream development partner, with both companies working to establish supply chain readiness and a roadmap for commercial deliveries.

The feedstocks are expected to support FatHopes Energy’s planned sustainable aviation fuel refinery ecosystem in Malaysia, while also strengthening connections between feedstock-producing markets and refining hubs across Asia.

The companies said the agreement reflects growing efforts across the region to establish practical and commercially viable supply chains for low-carbon aviation fuels as demand for sustainable aviation fuel continues to rise.
